Want to Do Something to Slow Down Climate Change? Stop the Keystone XL

Tell President Obma to include climate impacts in the analysis of Keystone XL project and reject this dangerous tar sands pipeline once and for all.

The State Department is considering TransCanada’s latest permit application for the Keystone XL pipeline — and they’re accepting public comments until July 31st. Secretary Clinton is hearing plenty from Big Oil, – now the Secretary needs to hear from YOU. Insist that the State Department include a scientific analysis of the impact of the pipeline on Climate Change.

Apart from the potential water pollution from pipeline failures and spills in the Plains, it is estimated that 240 gigatons of carbon will be released into the air as Big Oil destroys 700,000 acres of pristine Boreal Forest, a crucial carbon sink. No wonder NASA’s top climate scientist, James Hansen, says the tar sands could be “game over” for the climate.

Please, write to Secretary Clinton today.
