Among the flood of green costumes, marching bands, and striding politicians was a prominent display of discontent with Marcellus Shale gas drilling. Clean Water Action, Lincoln Place Action, Marcellus Protest, Peters Twp. Marcellus Shale Awareness, Sierra Club, and Sierra Student Coalition were among the groups in a contingent that included a large green snake carried aloft. With a higher demand from onlookers for information about the dangers of fracking, the protesters ran out of their leaflets before reaching the end of the parade. A great THANK YOU to all who made this event a real success.
